The day started off by completing an earthquake mission where children had to blindfold their partner and guide through the rubble to safety. Children climbed, crawled and jumped over equipment listening to their partners instructions. Next, we planned our volcanic experiment which they then erupted in the afternoon. Children poured vinegar, bicarbonate of soda and washing up liquid into their volcano to make a chemical reaction. We loved watching them erupt and watching the lava flow down the sides of the volcano.
Quotes from children during the experiment:
"The volcanoes smell really bad!"
"Can we erupt it again?"
"We need more vinegar"
"It erupted everywhere! We need to clean it up so we can erupt it again!"
