World War II Day & Learn and Share - 9th February 2017

The children came dressed up as children in WWII and took part in various activities throughout the day.  They made evacuee name tags and were 'evacuated' to different classes throughout the school where some were set tasks to do, some did sewing with Miss Chiverton and some did gardening with Mr Stainsbury.  They also got to make carrot and flour scones with 'rations' and experienced what it would have been like at school in WWII i.e. standing behind chairs and lots of spellings!

In the afternoon they were joined by their parent where they sang a song from WWII and shared their work - stories, war poems, propaganda artwork and letters to their parents.
