Autumn 2023

LITTER PICKING

The eco council have set up a litter picking rota so pupils can participate in daily litter picking duties on the school playgrounds. We hope to reduce the amount of litter and in turn help the natural ecosystem, the wildlife and our school too!

TERRACYCLE WRITING INSTRUMENTS RECYCLING SCHEME

Each class now has a white bucket to place used pens, highlighters, gel pens, felt pens and board pens. These will then be taken to Rymans stationary in Southend to be recycled.

ENVIRONMENTAL REVIEW OF THE SCHOOL

The eco councillors are currently reviewing the school's current situation regarding environmental issues such as water, energy, biodiversity and waste. These reviews are being done across the school and the information gathered will help the eco councillors create an action plan. We have already identified some initiatives that are already taking place such as Meat Free Mondays and paper recycling.
